I wanted to use up some veggies / arugula from the CSA + Allan likes scallops (a lot). This was the end result.

Pretty good, except I don't like scallops and discovered I'm not a huge fan of arugula either. Good thing this was only one of the dishes I made tonight.

Returned from the cruise to the Bahamas today... back to work on Monday.

Here are a few photos... the rest are on facebook.

Dinner at Le Bistro the first night... pre-cruise weight gain

Great Stirrup Cay... that's the Majesty (our ship) behind us

Our first towel animal... we got a different one each night.

On our way to Athol Island to snorkel. Those are neoprene snorkel socks on my feet, and that's Atlantis behind us.

Some beach in Freeport. Gorgeous... but very windy

This year will be the first year I give out candy as an adult... in past years, I've done Harvest Festival so I wasn't home to give out candy. Last year, we were in a hotel, so there were no kids trick-or-treating there.

Shadow hoarding her favorite toys... she REALLY likes that pumpkin (it squeaks)

She was quite excited when I gave her this real pumpkin!

Went to Magnolia Plantation again, just with Allan this time. It was just warm enough to see gators right before we left (apparently they like to lay out on the alligator boards when it's cold air but warm sun).

This alligator was on the boards, and the tram tour guide (we weren't on the tour, just walking and happened to be behind it) said it was the first gator he'd seen all day so far. Then, Allan leaned forward to take the photo... and it completely freaked out and splashed into the water. It apparently hung around underwater for a while and then climbed back on 30 minutes later (see facebook for video). Scary thing is, we didn't even see it until it started moving!

Walking trail bridge. Lots of camellias and daisies were blooming.

Met this donkey (we dubbed it "Eeyore") that was in the mini horse pasture. It thought I might have food, but it was out of luck. It tried to eat my hand anyway. When it mouthed Allan's hand, he'd had enough.

Mom's Visit

Mom left today after a 5 day visit... she tried to re-organize my house and "clean" it. Several times. Sometimes I would come back from something and discover that she'd organized something (like my pantry, closet, underneath my sink, etc). Wow...

But it was nice to have her over and show her some Charleston sights... and it's nice to have familiar faces around here, since there are so few friends.

Shadow was obsessed with my mother too... she is completely traitorous. She would follow her around the house begging for attention, didn't really care to be petted by us anymore. Now that she's gone, Shadow is a little sad, but she's getting over it.

Next month... Allan's parents are visiting for 5 days.
